Independence
OpenRSP is an independent, community project. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, sponsored by or supported by SDRplay Ltd, and nothing on this site should be read as a claim of any such relationship. SDRplay has not reviewed or approved OpenRSP.
SDRplay, RSP and the model names RSP1, RSP1A, RSP1B, RSP2, RSPduo, RSPdx and RSPdx-R2 are the property of their respective owners. They are used on this site only to describe the hardware and the API that OpenRSP works with.
If you have a problem with OpenRSP, please report it to the OpenRSP project, not to SDRplay. If you need the vendor's support, reinstall the vendor's own driver first; the OpenRSP Linux packages restore it automatically when they are removed.
How OpenRSP was made
OpenRSP was written to make RSP receivers work with other software and other operating systems. The USB protocol between the driver and the receiver and the protocol between the API library and its service were reverse engineered for that purpose, and the stack was then written from scratch. No vendor source code was used.
OpenRSP's packages and apps contain none of the vendor's binaries and none of its firmware. The USB bridge firmware OpenRSP uploads was written for the project from a description of how the original behaves, and it is open source like the rest of the stack. OpenRSP's API headers were also written for the project.
The vendor's software was used only as a reference during testing, to confirm that OpenRSP behaves the same way.

Source code
The source code and releases will be published soon, with details on this site. Bug reports, test reports from the experimental receiver models, and patches will all be welcome.
